Rescue Rodeo: Shop, Adopt & Sip Something Sweet

Rescue Rodeo: Shop, Adopt & Sip Something Sweet

This Sunday, we’re kicking off something special at HBarC Nashville: our first-ever Rescue Rodeo, a one-day community adoption event where Western fashion meets furry second chances.

The idea came from within, sparked by Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation and their efforts to raise funds for shelters impacted by the recent floods in Texas. It was brought to life by Kristin, manager of our Marathon Village and Arcade Nashville stores, who lived in Texas for 16 years and has close friends whose children attended camps affected by the disaster. This cause hits close to home, and a portion of proceeds from Sunday’s event will go directly to Texas-based shelters still recovering.

But this event is personal for another reason: Kristin knows exactly what it means to rescue.

Meet Rodeo

Three years ago, Kristin and her husband, Ty, a disabled military veteran, were looking for a dog to keep her company on the trails behind their home. What they found instead was a heartbreaking puppy mill in Kentucky, packed with crates of dogs who had never been held or loved.

One of them was Rodeo, a red heeler cattle dog taken from his mother too early. He clung to Kristin like glue and needed constant care. Today, he’s 75 pounds of loyal, protective energy, and still a softie at heart. Rodeo now roams their 8-acre property, rides tractors, goes to work every day with Ty, and keeps both of them company wherever they go.

Rodeo is a rescue, but Kristin is the first to say not every dog is right for every home. Rodeo is a working breed that needs purpose and space. “If I lived in an apartment, it would’ve been awful for him,” she says. “Rescue works best when you’re thoughtful about the kind of dog you’re bringing into your life.”

That’s the heart of Rescue Rodeo, giving animals a second chance and helping people find the right match, not just any match.

The Dogs of HBarC

Kristin’s not the only one. Across the HBarC team, many of us have rescue dogs at home from ranch mutts to sleepy couch pups. We’ll be sharing a few of their stories in the future. They aren’t part of the brand, but they are part of our lives, and this event means something to all of us.

What to Expect This Sunday

  • Adoptable puppies and kittens from local rescues
  • Custom HBarC Lattés from a pop-up coffee cart by Cassia Coffee
  • Jewelry Pop-Up by Rocking Out, a preview of our new jewelry line coming soon to the new HBarC Arcade shop
  • Vintage racks, sneak peeks of new arrivals, and all-day shopping energy
  • Homemade dog treats, community vibes, and plenty of puppy cuddles

…. and other fun surprises!

We’ll be reserving parking spots in front for the event space, complete with a large tent, vintage displays, and community partnerships with other Marathon Village tenants. Whether you’re there to adopt, sip coffee, try on a new snap shirt, or hang out with some adorable animals, we’d love to have you.

Why We Call It Rescue Rodeo

At HBarC, we believe in second chances, in reviving old classics, giving things new life, and doing things with heart. Rescue Rodeo is one more way we’re trying to build community around the things that matter. This time, we’re riding for Texas. Next time, it might be somewhere closer to home.

Come by this Sunday. Shop. Sip. Say hi.

And maybe, just maybe, meet your next best friend.
